Merlot is a generous grape. It knows how to adapt to many different situations but when, as in this case, it sinks its roots into the right place, the results can only be great. We are at the foot of the village of Missiano, among the vineyards of Huberfeld. Here the soils are of alluvial origin, with a high thermal capacity, and the vineyard is located within a natural amphitheatre that guarantees the Merlot will grow well and give fruit rich in sugar and aromas. After the harvest, the wine undergoes a slow fermentation in large wooden barrels followed by a maturation of about six months in tonneaux in contact with its fine lees. The result is a wine characterized by an intense ruby red colour. Hints of plum and black currant, liquorice and light spice. In the mouth it is soft and structured, with round and pleasant tannins. The finish is long and harmonious.
