    "Serasuolo" Liguria di Levante Rosato IGT 2024
    • Serasuolo is a beautiful Ligurian rosé born just a stone's throw from the sea, from vineyards growing on grey-red clay soils overlooking the Riviera di Levante, where the sea winds meet the mountains. This combination creates temperature variations that preserve the wine's aromatic qualities and maintain a pleasant acidity. After harvesting, the grapes undergo maceration in contact with the skins for about 12 hours. This allows the producers to obtain the typical cherry red colour without excess. This is followed by soft pressing and classic white vinification in steel. The wine then rests on the lees for a few months until bottling, which takes place between January and February. In the glass, it has a magnificent cherry pink colour, bright and inviting. The nose reveals aromas of red fruits such as black cherry, wild strawberries, raspberries and rose petals. On the palate, it is fresh, juicy and well-balanced. The acidity is lively and the finish is savoury. Almost a “Provençal” wine. Serasuolo is intended to be drunk young, within 1-2 years of harvest. It pairs well with seafood appetisers, summer salads and cold soups. Excellent with grilled fish, white meats, pizza and courgette parmigiana.

      The Il Monticello winery, founded in 1982 by Pier Luigi Neri on the beautiful hills surrounding Sarzana, on the border between Liguria and Tuscany, represents a perfect combination of tradition, passion and innovation in winemaking. We are located within the Colli di Luni DOC appellation. The winery covers approximately 14 hectares of vineyards, planted with native grape varieties such as Vermentino, Sangiovese, Ciliegiolo, Canaiolo, Pollera Nera and Massaretta. Pier Luigi Neri, a respected electronic engineer, started Il Monticello out of pure passion, starting from a 19th-century house surrounded by inherited vineyards. His sons Alessandro and Davide, after completing their studies and attracted to the world of wine from a young age, devoted themselves body and soul to the company, committing themselves to the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture. An interesting fact. The company was one of the first to introduce drones in viticulture to manage the vegetative state of the vines. Il Monticello is much more than a winery: it is a family history, a microcosm of sustainability and authenticity.
