    "Fojetta" Viognier Lazio IGP 2022
  • Once very rare in Italy, Viognier is a typical grape variety from the Rhone Valley in France. Fojetta, on the other hand, was the half-litre plumbed unit used in the ancient taverns of the Eternal City. Fermented in steel at a low temperature, this white wine proposed by Gaffino is characterised by an intense and elegant bouquet. Fresh and naturally balanced, Fojetta is the right wine to start with one bottle and finish the whole meal without changing wine. Decidedly versatile, it is a perfect wine to accompany delicate fish dishes, such as a fresh cod salad with black olives and fresh parsley, but also able to go well with more dense, white meat dishes. With a chicken a la diavola, for example, it really is 'the death of it'...

    Gaffino - Vigneti e Cantina is a beautiful family business, deeply rooted in its territory. For no less than three generations. The vineyards are conducted according to organic farming principles, and only those grape varieties are cultivated that are best adapted to the climate and soil. The grapes are selected on the vine and harvested only when they are properly ripe. Small attentions that allow Gaffino to produce, for sixty years now, healthy grapes from which quality wines are obtained without the need to intervene in the cellar with special oenological techniques. The company is located a few kilometres south of Rome and covers an area of 32 hectares, 28 of which are vineyards. Volcanic soil, with the right exposure and altitude above sea level.
