When one thinks about Collio Friulano one cannot but think about the many white wines produced in those parts. One of the symbols of the region is undoubtedly the Friulano, formerly Tocai, a typical white wine and undisputed king of the tables of many enthusiasts. A well-structured, fragrant and fruity wine, it requires a great deal of skill in the countryside. This Petruss, from the Ferruccio Sgubin winery, is a fine example. The result of careful vinification of grapes harvested when fully ripe in suitable vineyards, this Friulano presents itself in the glass with a beautiful straw yellow colour with golden reflections. The nose reveals a broad bouquet, with notes of flowers and sweet fruit. Then an elegant mineral sensation and a pleasantly almondy finish. In the mouth, however, it has grit to spare. Thanks to a nice, well-integrated alcohol content and a natural smoothness. Good structure and a long finish. A wine that is already excellent today but which, if kept well, can easily wait some time in the cellar.
