An interesting wine, capable of attracting the attentions of several enthusiasts. Made from pure Carmenère grapes, it comes from the Valle de Colchagua, where the stony soils provide a perfect substrate for this variety. It is harvested between April and May, only when the grapes are in optimal ripening conditions. After vinification, there follows a period of refinement in French oak barrels for 10 months followed by at least another 3 months in the bottle. In the glass, it is a dark ruby red colour. The nose is intense and attractive. Aromas of red and black fruits, spices and balsamic hints. In the mouth it is balanced, intense and pleasantly tannic. The finish is long, elegant and clean.
Dos Almas is a Chilean winery with an Italian heart, since it is part of the large Zonin1821 wine group. An ambitious project that sees the main winery in Veneto engaged in the development of a new brand, destined to soon carve out its space on the international market. The winery owns parcels of land in three different Chilean production areas, each with distinctive traits: in the Colchagua area, about 160 miles south of Santiago; in Casablanca, west of Santiago and towards the Pacific Ocean; and in the Maipo area, a historic wine region and home of Chilean Cabernet.
