The Doro Princic winery is a fine example of the Collio, one of the most renowned areas of Friuli Venezia Giulia for the production of high quality wines. Founded in 1950 by Isidoro Princic, affectionately called ‘Doro’, the company has played a fundamental role in the development and promotion of local wines. Doro, a self-taught winemaker, began bottling his first wines in 1952, distinguishing himself as one of the pioneers in enhancing the oenological potential of Collio. His vision and dedication led him to become a central figure in the Consorzio del Collio DOC, contributing significantly to the growth and recognition of the denomination. Today, Doro's legacy is carried on by his son Alessandro, known as Sandro, who, together with his wife Grazia and their son Carlo, continues to promote the authentic traditions of the territory. The family manages with passion and expertise about 12 hectares of vineyards located in the town of Pradis, between Capriva and Cormòns, considered one of the most suitable micro-terroirs of the entire denomination. The winery's production philosophy is based on careful vineyard management and wine-making practices that respect the fruit. Yields are kept low to guarantee excellence in every label, following the teachings of the founder.
