    SAINT "M" Rosé Cru Classé 2022
  • The one proposed here is one of those wines that best represents its fascinating territory of origin. We are in Provence, not too far from the celebrated Saint Tropez. This is where Cuvée SAINT "M," Rosé Cru Classé, offered by Domaines Roger Zannier, was born within the fascinating Château Saint Maur estate. A Provençal-style rosé, it comes from the processing of grapes typical to the area, with Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault and Carignan lending a hand. Grapes grown with respect for nature, thanks to a sustainable farming system. A low yield, and super careful winemaking, with low-temperature fermentation and fast aging in steel tanks. In this case everything is done with full respect for the starting raw material, with the aim of extracting all the good from the harvested fruit, without creating unnecessary superstructure. Everything is done, on the contrary, under the banner of finesse and lightness. A pale pink color, the nose is particularly elegant, with distinct hints of citrus and fresh fruit. In the mouth, then, the pleasant fruit notes return, accompanied in this case by a delicate citrus sensation, lemon in particular. Excellent right from the aperitif, this is the right wine to accompany a fine coquillage dinner. Also excellent with the more classic baked or aqua pazza fish stews.

    Owner of Quinta do Pessegueiro in the Douro for more than 25 years, Roger Zannier enthusiastically took up the challenge of transforming the chateau of Saint Maur into one of the most deserving sites in Provence, entrusting the fate of this jewel to his son-in-law, Marc Monrose. Located in Cogolin, just 10 km from Saint Tropez, west of the plain that connects the foot of the imposing Maures massif to the sea. This oasis of peace is ideally situated where vines have always reigned. Sheltered from the winds but subject to maritime influence, the estate covers 54 hectares, 38 of which are vineyards.
