Imbottigliato da Ciacci Fabiano Loc. Mocali - Montalcino - Italia
When a Brunello di Montalcino DOCG is called Dino Ciacci, then we are talking about a true legend in a bottle. Not just a “simple red”, but a tribute to a man who literally helped write the history of this appellation. It is produced by Il Valentiano, the winery owned by Valentina and Fabiano, who proudly carry on the legacy of his grandfather, Dino Ciacci, who was one of the founders of the Brunello Consortium back in 1967. The vineyards are located on the south-western slope of Montalcino, at an altitude of 400 metres, where Sangiovese finds its perfect habitat to develop complexity and longevity. Organic farming is practised here, with total respect for the soil and the environment. This Dino Ciacci is a wine that requires time and patience. But, we can guarantee, it will also repay the wait. After fermentation, it rests for at least two years in large Slavonian oak barrels, where it softens and develops its unique character. The result is a wine characterised by a garnet red colour. On the nose, it is an orchestra of scents that reveal themselves little by little: ripe red fruits, such as cherry and plum, notes of tobacco, leather, sweet spices and a touch of undergrowth. It is a complex and enveloping aroma. On the palate, however, it is powerful but incredibly balanced. The structure is robust but the tannins are already elegant and integrated. A pleasant acidity gives it momentum and a feeling of freshness, keeping the sip vibrant. The finish is very long, an experience that continues for several minutes after drinking. It is a wine that makes you say, ‘Here we are on another level.’ Good today, but to enjoy it at its best, you still have to wait. This wine has incredible ageing potential and can evolve for 10, 15 or even 20 years, acquiring complexity and charm. This is precisely why it is the perfect companion for special moments. At the table, it pairs well with roast red meat and game dishes, such as wild boar stew. Or with flavourful mature cheeses. Its strong character is not afraid of being paired with equally intense flavours.
The history of the Dino Ciacci winery began in Montalcino, amid passion, sacrifice and love for the land. It all started in the late 19th century with Savino Ciacci and continued with his son Dino, who with courage and dedication transformed the family's life from sharecroppers to landowners. In 1967, Dino was one of the founders of the Consorzio del Brunello di Montalcino, helping to write a fundamental page in the history of Italian viticulture. In the 1980s and 1990s, the winery experienced the growth and consecration of Brunello, planting new vineyards and building a modern winery. Today, the tradition continues with the fourth generation, led by Tiberio, who combines study and innovation with respect for the roots. Each bottle tells the story of a family's tenacity and its unbreakable bond with the hills of Montosoli.
