On the label, a note explains the meaning of the particular name of this wine. Amsela d'oro, Turdus merula sp., meaning blackbird, refers to an agronomic project dating back to the 1980s and dedicated to hillside Chardonnay, grown on the sunniest crags. The grapes, harvested by hand, are brought quickly to the winery and processed with expertise in respect of the cold chain to preserve the finest aromas. The fermentation, activated by the addition of selected yeasts, takes place partly in steel and partly in used French barriques. Immediately afterwards, the wine is left to rest on its noble lees for a few months in order to acquire greater complexity and richness. The result is a goblet of a straw yellow colour. The nose reveals an intense and varied bouquet, with fruity notes ranging from apple to banana. In the mouth it is just as pleasant. Naturally endowed with good balance, it is savory, complex and enveloping.
