In the heart of the prestigious Margaux appellation in the Médoc region lies Château Malescot Saint-Exupéry, a wine estate with a history dating back to the 17th century. Classified as a Troisième Grand Cru in 1855, this château is renowned for producing wines that reflect the elegance and complexity typical of the region. The appellation is characterised by the diversity of its soils, which contribute to the complexity of the wines produced. The grapes are harvested manually in crates to preserve the integrity of the bunches. Vinification is carried out with the least possible intervention: fermentation in stainless steel and concrete vats at a controlled temperature, without the addition of external yeasts. Alcoholic fermentation lasts from 8 to 12 days and is followed by ageing on the fine lees in French oak barriques, 70% of which are new, for a period of 12-14 months. During ageing, the wine is neither filtered nor clarified, and is racked only once. Château Malescot Saint-Exupéry has an intense garnet red colour. The bouquet offers elegant aromas of ripe berries, spices and light woody notes. On the palate, the wine is well-structured, with silky tannins and intense fruit that gives complexity and depth. The freshness and overall balance make it particularly pleasant. Thanks to its structure, Château Malescot Saint-Exupéry has excellent ageing potential. It can evolve favourably for 15-20 years, developing further aromatic complexity and refining its elegance over time. At the table it is a magnificent accompaniment to red meat dishes, such as a grilled rib of beef or a fillet with green pepper. It also goes well with game and mature cheeses, enhancing their intense and complex flavours.
