Chateau La Pointe
The one managed by Château La Pointe is one of the most interesting vineyards in the world. One of the largest in the Pomerol area, since it covers an area of around 22 hectares. But above all, it is the one that most enjoys extreme soil variability. This characteristic allows the winery's team of oenologists to obtain, vintage after vintage, wines of unparalleled finesse. 82% Merlot and 18% Cabernet Franc, during the first phase of vinification, delicate extractions are favoured, seeking above all to obtain wines characterised by perfect balance, fine, silky tannins and pleasant acidity. The result is a fine discovery. Characterised by a beautiful intense ruby colour with particularly brilliant violet reflections. The nose reveals a complex and multifaceted wine that combines aromas of small black fruits, floral notes of violets and distinct hints of sweet and spicy spices. In the mouth, one discovers a particularly elegant, delicate and aromatic wine. A pleasantly rich red, perfect for a dinner with friends. Pair it with a good roast, rather than a mixed cheese board. La Pointe, moreover, was one of the first properties in Bordeaux to call itself a 'château'. Since 2007, the estate has been part of the Generali France group and, under the direction of Eric Monneret, an agricultural engineer, the estate has undertaken major work, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, to guarantee constant and consistently high quality. In addition, Hubert de Boüard de Laforest, co-owner of Château Angélus and internationally renowned oenological consultant, collaborates with the estate's team.
