    • Sensations In the glass the wine shows a dense purple-red colour. When swirling the glass, this red wine reveals high viscosity, visible in thick legs along the rim. In the glass this red from Château Fonroque shows aromas of sour cherries and plums, accompanied by toasted wood. On the palate this energetic red stands out for its incredibly velvety texture. The acidity of Château Fonroque Grand Cru Classé St.-Émilion is unusually restrained, making the wine wonderfully smooth. On the finish, this red wine from the Bordeaux wine region, with its great ageing potential, impresses with remarkable persistence. Notes of plum and sour cherry return once again.

Château Fonroque Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé 2020
    • Château Fonroque is produced in the heart of Saint-Émilion Grand Cru AOC, on limestone plateaus that give the wine verticality and definition. Certified biodynamic, it represents one of the most authentic interpretations of Bordeaux’s Right Bank. Merlot dominates the blend, supported by Cabernet Franc which brings structure and tension. Vineyard management follows natural rhythms with close attention to soil vitality. In the cellar the approach is measured, aimed at preserving integrity and precision. Ageing accompanies the wine without masking its profile. In the glass it reveals blackberry, blackcurrant, floral notes and subtle hints of spice. The palate is deep yet flowing, with defined tannins and a linear progression. Natural freshness supports the structure and extends its development. A red built to express coherence, purity and long-term perspective.

Château Fonroque is one of the historic estates of Saint-Émilion, now recognised for its pioneering commitment to biodynamic viticulture. Located on a limestone plateau, it benefits from a terroir that encourages balance and aromatic precision. The Moueix family has consolidated over the years a philosophy focused on respect for biodiversity and soil health. The parcels are farmed using natural methods, prioritising vitality and sustainability. Grape selection is rigorous and yield management carefully controlled. In the cellar, technology and restraint accompany a low-intervention approach. The house style emphasises purity, structure and clarity. Fonroque represents a modern vision of Saint-Émilion, where tradition and sustainability coexist in a coherent way.
