Let's start with the territory. We are in Saint-Julien, a renowned wine region located in the Bordeaux region. Here, production is mainly focused on red wines, in particular from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Known for their elegance, structure and longevity. Saint-Julien covers a relatively small territory. Despite this, however, it is home to some of the most prestigious wine estates in the Bordeaux region. The soils here are rich in pebbles that provide good drainage, creating ideal conditions for growing vines. This is particularly true for Beychevelle, whose vineyards are located on the magnificent gravelly slopes that slope down to the Garonne and in the immediate vicinity of the Gironde. The presence of the two rivers also ensures a beneficial and regulating effect on the climate. 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot and 11% Cabernet Franc, this Bordeaux red fully respects the soul of its terroir of origin. Garnet red and compact, the nose reveals notes of dark fruit, with hints of cedar and herbs. In the mouth, however, it reveals a pleasantly full-bodied wine, with firm, well-integrated tannins. Juicy and savoury, it has a well-balanced structure, with a savoury finish. An excellent "second wine" from the Château, it is perfect to accompany lunches and meat-based dinners. Its value for money is also excellent.
