"Fritz Willi" Riesling Trocken Mosel 2021

With a bottle like that, it is impossible not to notice. The shape is typical of northern European wines, the classic Renana, slender and slender, perfect for accommodating fresh whites from cold countries. The label, on the other hand, colourful and flashy, seems to wink at modernity. But if the image is distinctive, what does not change is the quality of the wine stored in this bottle. Riesling Mosel Trocken, therefore dry, Fritz Willi is one of the good wines offered by the Bischöfliche Weingüter Trier winery, one of the most historic wineries in the Mosel region. Specifically, it is a lively, drinkable version of the famous German white, which certainly does not lack the more austere characteristics of Riesling. On the nose, in particular, there are hints of green apple and lemon, with pleasant vegetal and spicy hints. In the mouth, it is decidedly intense, characterised by the typical freshness of Riesling. Savoury and mineral, this 'Central European' white is an extremely versatile wine. From aperitif to dessert (especially with fruit), this Riesling is a really good companion for lunches and dinners. Also try it with the spicy cuisine typical of the East.
