"La Rossa" Barbera d'Asti Superiore DOCG 2020

For sports enthusiasts, "la Rossa" is synonymous with Ferrari and motoring. For sailing enthusiasts, Rossa is just the La Luna that keeps millions of couch potatoes glued to their screens. For wine lovers, La Rossa could soon become synonymous with the Barbera grape variety, because it evokes the characteristic bright red colour of wines produced with this variety. In this case, Cantina Aresca offers it in the "Superiore" version of Asti, since it is matured in wood for a minimum period of 6 months, and has an alcohol content of between 14 and 14.5 degrees. In the glass it is a beautiful bright ruby red colour. The bouquet is elegant, with notes of ripe cherry and raspberry. In the mouth it reveals itself as a full and elegant wine, with notes of red fruits and a pleasant finish reminiscent of vanilla. For an evening in Piedmontese style, this is certainly the right bottle to bring to the table. With boiled meats, in particular, but also with a nice first course dressed with an inviting meat sauce.
