    "Albe" Barolo DOCG Magnum 2022
    • Albe is the caress of the sun that rises every morning over the vineyards of this Barolo. It is the exceptional simplicity of Nature that makes possible the daily miracle of life awakening. With these beautiful words, Milena Vaira describes this extraordinary bottle. Barolo DOCG, a wine that perfectly embodies the elegance and power of this noble territory. Grapes harvested in the hamlet of Vergne, 380 metres above sea level, on clay soils facing south-east and south-west. Here, a particular microclimate, characterised by significant temperature variations between day and night, promotes optimal ripening of the grapes, giving the wine structure and complexity. 100% Nebbiolo, after manual harvesting, the grapes are pressed in vertical steel vats to start alcoholic fermentation, which lasts for 30-40 days, with maceration on the skins. In spring, the wine undergoes spontaneous malolactic fermentation and is then aged for between 18 and 36 months in large Slavonian oak barrels. Transparent ruby colour with garnet reflections, the nose is reminiscent of violets, dog roses, cloves and cinnamon, combined with intense notes of dark jam, resin and blond tobacco. On the palate, it captivates with its harmony, freshness and elegance. A complex and long-lived wine that offers an unforgettable sensory experience.

The G.D. Vajra winery is a jewel of the Langhe. Located in the hamlet of Vergne in the village of Barolo, founded and managed with dedication by the Vajra family, it is an example of how passion, care and expertise can give life to wines of the highest quality. The estate covers 60 hectares and includes vineyards located in all the prestigious crus such as Bricco delle Viole, Costa di Rose and Ravera. Since 2009, Vajra has also managed the vineyards of the Luigi Baudana estate in Serralunga d'Alba, in the localities of Ceretta and Baudana. The family takes a meticulous approach both in the vineyard and in the cellar, enhancing the unique characteristics of each cru. Each vineyard is worked with care and the vinification process uses techniques that respect and enhance the characteristics of the grapes. This commitment is reflected in wines that are authentic ambassadors of the territory, capable of conveying to those who taste them all the nuances and richness of the Langhe soils.
