Montalbera is one of the Piedmontese wineries most closely linked to the rebirth and enhancement of Ruché, an indigenous grape variety that in some ways resembles the noble Pinot Noir. Ruché is used in the production of various wines offered by the winery. Vinified pure or, as in this case, blended with another classic of Piedmontese viticulture, Barbera. This is how "Fuori Catalogo" was created, a wine produced with grapes harvested when slightly over-ripened and aged in steel tanks. The result is a beautiful red wine, with a garish colour and violet reflections that tends towards garnet with ageing. The nose is intense and attractive. The mouthfeel is delicate, soft and full-bodied, with evident hints of berry jam. A real treat for the palate.
Montalbera is a fine Piedmont-based winery closely linked to the family of its founder, Enrico Riccardo Morando. For three generations now, he has successfully represented his land to the world, producing Piedmont wines with character and style.
