North-East slope of the hill of Montalcino. It is here, about 7 kilometres from the village, that Podere la Vigna is located. Owned by the Rubegni family, farmers who have been in the business for generations, the estate can count on a complex of four hectares of vineyards, where clearly (and rightly so) the main grape variety is always Sangiovese, grown here in several carefully selected clones. Adriano Rubegni, and his wife Sonia, personally follow the production. A curiosity. The symbol of the winery is a "married" vine, that is, one that uses a tree as a guide. This ancient form of cultivation, locally called "a testucchio", was present in the estate vineyards purchased in the 1970s. A nice tribute to an ancient tradition, now almost disappeared from our countryside. The vine holding on to the plant symbolizes the bond that is established between the vine and its territory. Definitely a good message.
