The Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2016 proposed by Podere la Vigna is the result of a good vintage, rated among the best in recent years. Traditional vinification in 50 hectolitre stainless steel vats, with several daily pressings to allow the complete extraction of colour and tannins from the skins, it matures in 20 and 30 hectolitre oak casks for about two years before meeting the bottle and refining in glass for at least another six months in the cellar. The result is a wine of fine workmanship and decidedly refined. Characterized by a beautiful ruby red colour, a particularly wide range of sensations emerges on the nose. The fruit, red and black, is the background to an elegant spicy note reminiscent of tobacco leaf. All this is well blended with the typical memories of underbrush that are typical of Sangiovese. In the mouth it is pleasantly soft, enveloping and has great structure. The silky tannins are the prelude to a very long finish, with nice fruity hints.
