Langhe DOC Occhetti is produced from grapes grown in the vineyard of the same name in the municipality of Monteu Roero in the Cuneo area. A wine made from 100% Nebbiolo, vinified in steel and refined for at least 12 months in oak barrels of different sizes; the wine then rests in the bottle for another 4 months before being released for sale. In this way, a simple and versatile Nebbiolo is obtained. A wine that is suitable for a thousand different occasions. From a dinner with friends to an elegant evening with dishes of typical Piedmontese cuisine. Presents itself in the glass with a beautiful ruby red colour tending towards garnet. Develops an elegant fragrance on the nose with hints of raspberry, rose and liquorice. Full and harmonious in the mouth, very fine and above all with a long persistence.
In 1904, the cooperative winery "Ai Vini delle Langhe" was founded in Serralunga d'Alba, but unfortunately it was liquidated after about 20 years. Therefore, in 1922, Alfredo Prunotto decided to invest in it and rebuild it. Since that year, the Prunotto company has grown vintage after vintage, and in 1994 it achieved important goals and entered the universe of the Antinori group. It currently has a total area of about 50 hectares of vineyard in some of the best sites in Piedmont, such as Bussia, Bric Turot and Costamiole.
