Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio DOC 2022

A great local wine often has origins that are lost through the centuries. This Lacryma Christi, which has been produced at the foot of Campania's great volcano since the Middle Ages, is no exception. At that time, it was the monks who cultivated and harvested the best grapes when they were fully ripe in order to transform them into fine wine. Today it is the many winemakers, both small and large, who are passionate about the area, who have taken up the legacy of the monks and passed it down from generation to generation, making it known throughout the world. Mastoberardino proposes this red Lacryma Christi, obtained from Piedirosso grapes in purity and vinified in steel. The result is a wine characterized by a beautiful ruby red colour, with clear hints of red and black fruit, such as cherry and plum, to which spicy notes of pepper and cloves are added, as well as mineral sensations. In the mouth it is warm, with great structure and softness but above all with fine and elegant tannins.
