Cala dei Tufi is in fact made from Chardonnay grapes grown in a single small vineyard that is located right next to the sea, among sand dunes and spontaneous vegetation. In this marvellous place, the grapes reach perfect ripeness, enjoying both the sun - which is certainly not lacking on the southern coasts of Sicily - and gentle, constant breezes that mitigate the excessive heat and help preserve the vineyard’s perfect health. Technically, Cala dei Tufi is a late harvest, processed in steel and then left to rest for a few months in the bottle. Straw yellow, with golden hues, on the nose notes that recall citrus and Mediterranean scrub. Then plums and honey. In the mouth it is sweet, with notes of ripe fruit.
