When reality surpasses the imagination. This is how the vineyard that Mandrarossa dedicates to this extraordinary sweet wine appears. Cala dei Tufi is in fact made from Chardonnay grapes grown in a single small vineyard that is located right next to the sea, among sand dunes and spontaneous vegetation. In this marvellous place, the grapes reach perfect ripeness, enjoying both the sun - which is certainly not lacking on the southern coasts of Sicily - and gentle, constant breezes that mitigate the excessive heat and help preserve the vineyard’s perfect health. Technically, Cala dei Tufi is a late harvest, processed in steel and then left to rest for a few months in the bottle. Straw yellow, with golden hues, on the nose notes that recall citrus and Mediterranean scrub. Then plums and honey. In the mouth it is sweet, with notes of ripe fruit.

If Sicily is one of the most productive regions in terms of quantity of wine, the Settesoli winery represents one of the most lively realities of the island panorama. It is a large cooperative in Menfi, in the province of Agrigento, possibly one of the largest in Italy, which brings together more than 2 thousand small producers who cultivate their vineyards, which total more than 6 thousand hectares, with passion and expertise. The farmers give their grapes to the winery, which processes them and produces excellent wines. In this case, there really is strength in numbers. And the work of small producers can be justly remunerated since their wines are sold on all the markets of the world. Mandrarossa represents the brand of excellence of Settesoli wineries. Wines that are born from a careful mapping of the best soils, worked by a small number of particularly scrupulous winemakers, and vinified with the help of a team of expert oenologists. The result is a range of absolute excellence, characterized by an excellent quality/price ratio.
