Vertigo Rosso Delle Venezie IGT

On the label it is indicated as Delle Venezie IGT. Vertigo is one of the great wines from the Livio Felluga winery. It is a wine that demonstrates that Friuli is not just a great territory with a white wine vocation. In fact, it is made from a classic Bordeaux blend, where Merlot, which in Friuli finds one of its Italian homelands, is blended with Cabernet Sauvignon to achieve greater balance and complexity. The grapes, harvested by hand in the first ten days of October, are gently destemmed and crushed. Fermentation and maceration of the skins in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. After racking, the wine is left to mature for twelve months in steel and small French oak barrels. Almost impenetrable purplish red, Vertigo has persuasive and intense aromas that recall notes of ripe cherry, raspberry, blackberry and apricot. On the finish, spicy hints of vanilla and tobacco leaf are evident. In the mouth it is soft, with a nice fruity component that integrates perfectly with the ripe and elegant tannins. A fine wine to be served with savoury first courses, meat dishes or medium-aged cheeses.
