For those unfamiliar with the mineral whites of the Chablis region, this Petit Chablis Michel Laroche et ses enfants offered by Domaine d'Henri is a good place to start. We are in the far north of the Burgundy region, just a few kilometers from the first vineyards of Champagne. The region is magnificent, and magnificent especially are the good white wines, 100% Chardonnay, that are produced here. The soils here are mainly composed of limestone marls, perfect for growing vines. The climate is decidedly cool and favors the production of wines of great pleasantness and minerality. Bright golden color, this Petit Chablis, "Little Chablis," has hints of white flowers such as hawthorn and acacia, mixed with citrus notes such as lemon and grapefruit. All this against a pleasantly mineral background. In the mouth it is lively and balanced. A fresh and persistent wine. Perfect on more than one occasion, this Chablis satisfyingly accompanies seafood lunches and dinners. Also excellent with white meats, such as chicken or turkey, and with fresh cheeses.
