Catarratto is one of the historic and most characteristic vines of Sicily. Thanks to its great productivity, during the 20th century it was one of the most widely used vines, either alone or together with Grillo and Inzolia, for the production of Marsala. Traditionally bush-trained, it is able to reach the right level of ripeness of the grapes very well. Catarratto can produce interesting wines with lively acidity, a moderate alcoholic note and a clear mineral vein. The version proposed here by La Valle della Luna perfectly reflects the nature of this grape variety. Vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, this wine is aged on its lees for at least 5 months before bottling, acquiring greater complexity and richness in terms of aromas. In the glass it has a beautiful straw yellow colour with greenish reflections. On the nose it is easy to perceive scents ranging from orange blossom and citrus fruits. Then white peach and delicate notes of sweet spices. In the mouth it is full, savoury and fresh. Perfect with hors d'oeuvres, both seafood and sliced meats, it is a white wine that can hold its own with both fish and meat dishes, provided they are delicate.
