"Quercus" Rebula 2022

Rebula is the Slovenian name for a much-loved grape variety in our North East, and in Friuli in particular. We are talking about Ribolla Gialla, used here in purity to give life to this Quercus Rebula from the Klet Brda winery. In the glass it has a beautiful light yellow colour with a greenish hint indicating its young and fresh nature. On the nose, it is easy to recognise notes of citrus fruit, lemon in particular but also citron and grapefruit, accompanied by distinct hints of still tart green apple. In the mouth, however, one discovers a fresh, clean wine, masterfully executed and clearly recognisable in the typical Ribolla notes. A super enjoyable wine that is the result of careful processing of grapes harvested by hand and vinified only in steel, with full respect for the raw material. Matured, again in temperature-controlled steel tanks, sur lie for about six months. A very pleasant white wine, it is a divine accompaniment to savoury fish and seafood dishes and, for those with a sweet tooth, even the sweet prosciutto crudo di San Daniele. A true pleasure for the palate.
