    "Terra di Rosso" Piedirosso Campania IGP 2020
  • As of 2017, the famous Terra di Lavoro, one of Campania's best-loved wines in the world (at least judging by the number of awards and rave reviews it has received over the years) has a 'younger brother'. It is this Terra di Rosso, Campania IGT that comes from a pure processing of Piedirosso grapes, the surplus part compared to that harvested for the Terra di Lavoro blend, in excellent vintages. Volcanic soils and vines aged between 22 and 24 years guarantee super high quality. Harvesting is carried out by hand at the beginning of October. Vinification is traditional, with a long maceration phase that continues for about 20 days. Maturation takes place in new Allier and Never barrels and lasts for no less than 8 months. Not too deep ruby red, Terra di Rosso has a rich bouquet, with fruity notes of cherry, currant, blackberry, strawberry, raspberry and blueberry, followed by hints of violet, geranium, lavender and Mediterranean scrub. In the mouth it is fresh, but also soft and elegant. Pleasantly tannic, it is an extremely fine red wine that can also be paired with moderately delicate dishes such as fish soup or, for lovers of traditional recipes, even with a tasty aubergine parmigiana.

    Azienda Agricola Galardi was born from a dream shared by five people. Maria Luisa Murena, Arturo Celentano, Roberto Selvaggi, Francesco and Dora Catello, in 1991, decided to give life to a new reality, capable of making the most of the many good fruits of their land. We are in Sessa Aurunca, on the slopes of Roccamonfina. Here, on volcanic soils and with the help of a great "winemaker" like Riccardo Cotarella, they began their journey to discover the potential of Aglianico and Pedirosso, which until then had been little exploited by local producers. Following modern criteria of a reasoned viticulture, and thanks to a unique terroir, here wines of great quality and strong character can be born. This is how the legendary "Terre di Lavoro" was born, today considered one of the most interesting products of the noble Aglianico. A wine that, as world-famous wine critics have often written, has brought the Galardi winery to the elite of Italian red wine.
