  • Sensations An aromatic, complex and persistent wine, always with elegance and never excessive. In the glass, Albagìa immediately stands out for its brilliant straw yellow colour, enhanced by golden streaks. Its persistence is perceptible both on the nose and in the mouth, with initial fruity and floral notes that evolve to reveal balsamic aromas, finally closing with hints of honey and bitter almonds typical of the variety.
  • Vinification The must is left to ferment in steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 17.5°C. This temperature is then gradually lowered as alcoholic fermentation is completed, until the optimum temperature for the specific variety is reached. This is followed by a period of refinement on noble lees for at least 60 days to enhance the complexity and improve the longevity of the wine. This also preserves the wine from possible oxidation during racking, minimising the need to add sulphites. Clarification follows exclusively with bentonite at an extremely low dosage to preserve aromas and colour. The subsequent filtration is carried out with a tangential filter.

    "Albagìa" Malvasia Puntinata Roma DOC 2022
  • Defined by many as a white wine with the body of a red, Albagìa, DOC Roma, is made from selected pure Malvasia Puntinata grapes. The grapes come from carefully selected vineyards in Monte Compatri, in the province of Rome. After harvesting, the grapes, which have reached a perfect degree of ripeness, are brought to the winery for processing. The must is fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature and, at the end of this phase, the wine is left to age on its own noble lees for at least 60 days, to enhance its complexity and improve its longevity. In the glass, Albagìa immediately stands out for its brilliant straw yellow colour, enhanced by golden streaks. Very persistent, both on the nose and in the mouth, it first strikes you with fruity and floral notes that slowly evolve to reveal balsamic aromas, finally closing with hints of honey and bitter almond, typical of the variety. Seafood, fish and shellfish are its natural accompaniment.

    Chiara and Lorenzo Iacoponi are two siblings who grew up with bread and... "Castelli Romani". To be precise, they grew up in Monte Compatri among the hills, on the slopes of the Latium volcano, where their grandfather passed on to them a passion for nature and the vineyard. And it was here, in 2017, that they set up a winery, Cantine Eredi dei Papi, with the aim of producing top quality wines "made in Lazio". To do so, they base their activity on a simple golden rule: "wine is made in the vineyard". For this reason, from the very first years of activity, the two brothers have implemented a strict conversion of the vineyards from spurred cordon to guyot, with native vines planted over 20 years ago by their grandfather. The concept of terroir is a prerogative inseparable from the identity of the company, which, aware of the potential of the Lazio region, aims to become its ambassador on a national and international level.
