Lumassina IGT Colline Savonesi

One never stops learning when it comes to wine. In this case, for example, we are faced with a true rarity. A Ligurian white produced with Lumassina grapes from the Durin vineyards in Orco Feglino, Vezzi Portio, Spotorno and Rialto. The name Lumassina, in Ligurian dialect, means snail. Tradition has it that the wine made from this grape should be drunk with a dish of snails, which in the area are called 'lumasse'. Traditions aside, the one proposed here by Durin is a pleasantly dry white wine, characterised by a pale straw-yellow colour with greenish highlights. The nose is delicately floral and vegetal, with hints of musk and yellow plum. In the mouth it is fresh, with a slightly pleasantly tart note. Light in body, it has great balance.
