Domaine Masson Blondelet, in the heart of the Loire Valley, offers this interesting Pouilly-Fumé Villa Paulus. 100% Sauvignon Blanc, this French white wine is organic and 'Vegan friendly'. The vineyards are located in Pouilly sur Loire, between 25 and 40 years old, rooted in soils of a mixed nature, with marl and Kimméridgian, white clay and fossil shells. Harvested by hand, stainless steel tanks are used for vinification in which the wine remains in contact with its fine lees for a long time. Note that the wine is bottled with a low use of sulphites, according to the principles of biodynamic viticulture. Straw yellow with golden highlights, the nose is rich and intense, with fruity notes of apple and citrus fruits, floral hints and pleasant mineral hints. On the palate, however, it is full, persistent and rich, with a fruity note of apple and mango, pleasant floral hints and a distinct freshness and tanginess.
Created by Michelle and Jean-Michel Masson in 1975, Domaine Masson Blondelet is located in the Loire Valley region of France and has vineyards in the famous Sancerre and Poully-Fumé areas. We are in the eastern part of the region, what is known in France as the 'central vineyard', due to its geographical location right in the centre of the country. Here, extraordinary white wines are produced, especially based on Sauvignon Blanc, the area's main grape variety. Today, the winery covers a total area of 22 hectares, divided into several plots. All the vineyards fall within the AOC Pouilly-Fumé and Sancerre territories. Since 1980, all chemical fertilisers have been banned on the estate, and the precepts of Biodynamics are followed. The estate is therefore managed with the utmost respect for the environment, without herbicides and with drastically reduced treatments.
