    Muscadet Sevre et Maine Cru "Vallet" 2016
  • Cru Vallet is an interesting novelty in the panorama of Loire Valley wines. It is the result of a precise selection of plots that meet strict requirements, such as exposure, slope and type of subsoil. These plots of land produce high quality grapes that are processed in the cellar to the highest standards to produce Muscadet for ageing. 100% the offspring of the best Melon de Bourgogne, this white wine from Château du Cléray-Sauvion is fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. At the end of the vinification phase, the wine is then left to mature on its lees for a period of no less than 30 months, with regular battonage to get the yeasts deposited at the bottom of the containers moving again and allow greater aromatic release. Bright, golden yellow and deep, this Muscadet Sevre et Maine has complex and inviting aromas, with aromas of exotic fruit, lemon, apricot, yellow peach and a light roast. In the mouth, however, it is broad and crisp. A rich, fruity wine with a pleasant basic toastiness. Balanced and long, it is undoubtedly a great gastronomic Muscadet that pairs well with oysters and fish tartare.

    In the heart of the Nantes area lies Château du Cléray-Sauvion. We are in the Loire region, land of the wind. Here the gentle, constant ocean breeze caresses the vines every day. Acquired by Ernest Sauvion in 1935, the Château du Cléray-Sauvion mainly produces Muscadet Sèvre and Maine, a fabulous oyster wine, but also Gros-Plant-du-pays-nantais and Chardonnay. In total, the winery has 95 hectares, with clay and limestone soils. And limestone soils from which wines with good ageing potential are produced.
