It comes from an elaborate blend of almost equal parts Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, to which just 5% Petit Verdot is added. These ingredients would be enough to know immediately that we are dealing with an elegant Bordeaux red, specifically from the Médoc. Château Pigotte Terre-Feu is the result of traditional winemaking in thermoregulated steel and concrete tanks. The grapes, picked when perfectly ripe, are immediately started for processing, beginning with as much as 4 weeks of maceration, during which the wine undergoes pumping over and three racking per day to best extract color and tannins. The result is a deep red in the glass, with purplish reflections. A full-bodied but very balanced wine, it has aromas of ripe red fruit and a delicate hint of spice. Surprising then is its finish, long and pleasant, prolonging the pleasure of each sip for several minutes.
