For years the standard-bearer of quality Sicilian wine-growing, Nero d'Avola is here re-proposed in Cantine Fina's interesting Bio interpretation. Terre Siciliane IGP, in this case the vine, harvested at full maturity, and processed in purity, is vinified with skill and aged only in steel before meeting the bottle. In the glass it has a beautiful intense ruby red colour, with violet reflections. The nose reveals a particularly complex aroma, with typical notes of prune, cherry, blackberry, blackcurrant and raspberry. The flavour, on the other hand, is rich, full and velvety. It has a great structure and aromatic persistence, with tannins that are present but not at all unpleasant. In Sicily, but not only there, Nero d'Avola is usually paired successfully with savoury red meat dishes or with some moderately mature cheeses. A fine red, decidedly versatile.
