One of the most amazing things about Syrah is its great ability to adapt to different climates and soils. Depending on the case, it will give rise to wines that are more or less intense but still interesting and easily recognisable. Campo alle Comete, a winery owned by the Capaldo family, the same family that owns Feudi di San Gregorio in Campania, makes the most of the estate's Syrah, grown in vineyards that stretch from the Tyrrhenian Sea to the foothills of the Maremma. The result is a red wine with great power and expressiveness that brings with it all the aromatic complexity of the Mediterranean terroir. Matured in steel and in the bottle, this red wine appears in the glass with a beautiful deep colour. On the nose it is easy to distinguish touches of small black berries, sweet spices and tobacco. In the mouth it is well balanced and fresh, with a pleasantly balsamic finish. It is the right wine to accompany a fine Tuscan dinner, with Cinta Senese cured meats, cereal and legume soup and medium-aged cheeses. The greatest satisfactions come from small details.
