    Carrasviñas Rueda Verdejo 2017
  • Carras viñas Verdejo, DO Rueda, is one of the region's historic labels. In the past it was a very different wine from the one we discover now. It was, in fact, made from a blend of Verdejo and prized Palomino grapes, and underwent oxidative ageing in the sun, typical of this region of Spain. Today, by contrast, it is a fresh, young Verdejo, designed to be paired with good fish dishes, such as Galician-style octopus. Straw yellow, the nose is striking for the intensity of its fresh aromas reminiscent of gooseberries, white currants or ripe melon. However, the special processing it undergoes also brings out subtle notes of custard and vanilla, as well as a subtle hint of wood and sweet toast. In the mouth it is dry and well endowed with natural acidity. The alcohol is well integrated and makes it pleasantly persistent.

The story of Bodega Cachazo began in 1946, and is the story of a family that has been dedicated to producing quality wines for generations. A perfect combination of tradition, experience, hard work and passion for the land, Bodega Cachazo specialises in producing quality white wines from the Rueda DO area. All this thanks to modern, technologically advanced facilities. Big, yes, but still with a decidedly family spirit.
