Baron Longo's Pinot Bianco Schutterstein is made from grapes harvested in the picturesque circular vineyard that surrounds the hill on which Villa Castle stands. We are in Egna, in the province of Bolzano, in the southern part of South Tyrol. Harvested strictly by hand, the grapes are quickly brought to the cellar to be transformed through careful vinification in steel, followed, in accordance with the style of the winery, followed by a phase of prolonged aging of the wine on its fine lees. The result is a glass of brilliant straw yellow colour, with ample and floral aromas. There are also elegant sensations of white and yellow pulp fruit. The aromatic picture is the same in the mouth, where, however, the wine is above all fresh, fragrant and well-balanced. It is a perfect white if our menu includes fish dishes. But thanks to its complexity, it can easily stand up to comparison even with white meat dishes or cheeses that are not too mature.
A company rich in history and ancient noble traditions. Tenuta Baron Longo is located in South Tyrol, more precisely in Egna, in the province of Bolzano. Villa castle, located in the town of the same name, and the Palais Longo in Egna, dating back to the 18th century, are two highlights of the property. The castle, in particular, is a building of great charm. It stands, in fact, on a cone-shaped hill entirely covered by a vineyard arranged in concentric circles. Both buildings, however, due to their uniqueness and historical nature, have been under the protection of cultural heritage department since 1949. Today the winery is managed by Anton von Longo-Liebenstein, who belongs to the latest generation of the family. The estate has over 15 hectares of cultivated land and uses only grapes from its own vineyards to produce its wines. Anton von Longo-Liebenstein is a member of the Association of Free Winegrowers of South Tyrol and of FIVI, the Italian Federation of Independent Winegrowers. Baron Longo wines are natural, and stand out for their finesse, nobility and elegance.
