"Monte dei Cocci" Primitivo Puglia IGP 2021

It is called Monte dei Cocci and is a pure Primitivo, proposed by Tenute Girolamo. Puglia IGP, the grapes come from the hills of upper Salento. An enchanted place where the climate is mitigated by a light breeze that blows constantly and where the soils are red and rich in precious elements. The grapes, harvested when fully ripe, are delivered to the winery within a few hours to be sent to a rigorous transformation process. After soft maceration and subsequent fermentation in truncated conical French oak vats, the wine is moved to French oak barriques for a maturation period of no less than 6 months. This is followed by bottling and a further period of rest in the cellar for about 6 months. In the glass it has a beautiful, luminous colour. An intense red with violet reflections. The nose is characterised by lovely hints of wild berries and typical notes of spices, all accompanied by a hint of sweet red flowers. In the mouth it is pleasantly tannic and full. Velvety and firm. A traditional regional red, this Apulian Primitivo goes well with all meat dishes typical of Mediterranean cuisine. A goblet capable of giving beautiful sensations and a long pleasure.
