Maremma Toscana DOC Cilegiolo 2021

If Sangiovese is able to give life to such interesting wines, it is often due to the addition, in small percentages, of other typical local grape varieties. Varieties that give the noble Tuscan some particular characteristics, which it lacks. Among these there is the Ciliegiolo capable of enriching the wine with very recognizable fruity notes. In this Maremma DOC proposed by Tenuta Aquilaia it is even worked in purity. And what you get is an interesting red wine with a very recognizable note of ripe fruit, from morello cherry to sour cherry. In this wine’s bouquet, you can clearly appreciate every nuance of cherry. A modern expression of an ancient tradition, this wine is the result of a simple but accurate process. It starts with a manual harvest of the grapes. Fermentation at controlled temperature for 15 days and maceration on the skins for 15 days. Malolactic conversion and aging in steel tanks for 8 months. The result is a wine of great pleasantness characterized by a good alcohol content and an enviable balance between all its components. Really a nice wine, not common but definitely easy to appreciate.
