"Diciotto" Supercampano Semplice Paestum IGT 2019 - Tempa di Zoè

Zero is the first project realized by Tempa di Zoè, back in 1997. A pure Aglianico from two hectares of vineyard, located in Acqua di Costanza in the municipality of Torchiara. An area influenced by the Tyrrhenian Sea and a decidedly sunny climate. The words "Il supercampano" on the label wink at the great Tuscan wines, the Supertuscans, so fashionable in recent years. Zero is made from slightly dried grapes that are fermented with wild yeasts. At the end of vinification, the wine is aged in wood until it reaches the right complexity. In the glass it has a beautiful deep ruby colour. The nose is characterised by a rich fruity bouquet reminiscent of plums and blackberries, well supported by the alcohol. Then black pepper and cocoa. In the mouth, however, it is soft and rich in terms of fruit and jam. Warm but well balanced thanks to soft tannins and a savoury freshness. Ideal with robust main courses of red meat, such as braised meats and game. Excellent with mature cheeses.

Four vineyards and four partners are the foundations of the new Tempa di Zoè project, which involves the Campania-based winery Feudi di San Gregorio, Francesco Domini, Vincenzo D'Orta and Bruno De Conciliis. The vineyards, located in the municipality of Torchiara, initially extended over 2 hectares planted with Aglianico grapes, from which Zero, an important and unique red wine, has been produced since 1997. In 2015 and 2016 new plantings of Aglianico and Fiano were added for a total of about 5 hectares. 2018 marks a turning point for the project, thanks to the construction of the winemaking cellar located in Agropoli, in San Pietro and surrounded by vineyards.
