There is no wine more popular in north-eastern Italy than Pinot Grigio. And it is no coincidence that the grapes used to produce this Vigne Verdi-designed white wine come from Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia and Trentino Alto Adige. A simple, drinkable wine by definition, Pinot Grigio presents itself in the glass with a beautiful straw-yellow colour, sometimes with slight coppery hues. A mineral note stands out on the nose, accompanied by yellow fruit, peach, melon and even a hint of strawberry on the finish. In the mouth, it has a good alcohol content and is pleasantly savoury and full-bodied. An everyday wine, it can also accompany important lunches. Excellent as an aperitif, it goes well with starters, vegetable first courses and risottos. Also perfect with white meats and tasty fish.
