Idiom is a South African winery based in the renowned wine region of Stellenbosch. The soul of this project, however, speaks fluent Italian. The story begins in 1950, when Alberto Bottega emigrated as a child from a small village in Friuli to Cape Town. Years later, guided by his passion for great wines and by the unbroken connection with his roots, he decided to pursue a dream: producing classic European grape varieties interpreted through the extraordinary South African terroir. Today, Idiom’s vineyards occupy a truly spectacular position on the slopes of the Helderberg mountain range, in the southernmost part of Stellenbosch. From here, the view stretches across the entire False Bay peninsula, offering breathtaking scenery.
