In the Langhe landscape, where wine is a story handed down from generation to generation, the story of Carlo Revello (e Figli) stands out for its ability to combine the warmth of peasant tradition with a modern vision. We are in La Morra, one of the most prestigious and fascinating villages in the Barolo area, where the hills form a natural amphitheatre of rare beauty. The Revello family’s journey into the world of wine dates back to the 1950s, when grandfather Giovanni began cultivating the first vineyards as a tenant farmer. However, the decisive turning point came in the 1990s. It was then that Carlo and his brother Lorenzo, after gaining experience in other professions, decided to take over the family business. The real spark came in 1992 thanks to a meeting with an exceptional “master”, their friend Elio Altare. With a phrase that later became legendary — “You have an exceptional position, you are young, and if you are willing, I will help you” — Altare ignited the brothers’ enthusiasm, guiding them towards a qualitative revolution that brought Revello wines to the heights of international excellence. In 2016, the brothers chose to part ways in order to allow their respective children to join the business. This led to the creation of the Carlo Revello e Figli project, where Carlo is now joined by his sons Erik and Niklas, carrying forward the artisanal soul that makes every sip of their wines unique. The heart of the production lies in the Annunziata area, a hamlet of La Morra renowned for producing Barolos of almost unmatched elegance. The production philosophy is rooted in sustainable viticulture: the use of herbicides and insecticides has long been abandoned, favouring targeted treatments based on sulphur and copper in order to respect the natural balance of the soil.
