This grape variety is a true champion, capable of adapting to practically any conditions, whether in terms of soil or climate, and in any case of producing wines with an unmistakable character. Cantina Merano succeeds perfectly in making the most of this excellent raw material to produce a complex and long-lived Chardonnay. It is no coincidence that only grapes from selected vineyards in Marlengo, Cermes and Lana are used to produce this wine. The alcoholic fermentation takes place in large oak and stainless steel barrels, followed by a slow maturation on the lees with partial malolactic fermentation. The result is a wine characterised by a beautiful straw-yellow colour, with an inviting aroma reminiscent of pineapple and bananas. In the mouth it reveals a good sapidity and an elegant and harmonious character. An extremely versatile wine, it goes well with fish and seafood dishes. Thanks to its good concentration, this mountain Chardonnay also goes well with white meats and tasty risottos. Good today, it is a wine with discreet ageing potential. Well stored in the cellar, it can serenely mature for more than 5 years.
