The Langhe DOC Nebbiolo of Azienda Agricola G.D. Vajra is a pure expression of the Langhe terroir. It is born in Barolo and is distinguished by its purity and elegance. 100% Nebbiolo. An autochthonous Piedmont grape variety, known for its ability to best express the characteristics of the terroir, the one used by the family to produce this wine comes from vineyards that benefit from unique climatic conditions. Harvesting is done manually, selecting only the best bunches. After the harvest, the grapes undergo a 30-day fermentation, followed by malolactic fermentation, which occurs naturally. This helps to stabilise the wine and give it softness. Subsequent ageing takes place for 5 months in steel vats, a method that preserves the freshness and purity of the fruit, before bottling. In the glass, it has a brilliant garnet colour. On the nose, an intense and complex bouquet, with notes of raspberry, cherry and mountain berries, accompanied by delicate hints of rose petals, violets, lavender and mint. The palate is elegant and refined, with flavours of crisp red fruits, orange peel and sweet spices, enriched by earthy and mineral nuances. The finish is long and persistent, with a pleasant freshness that invites another sip. Best drunk young, within 5 years of harvest, it pairs well with red meats and mature cheeses. Excellent with traditional Piedmontese dishes such as braised beef with Barolo, roast lamb and local cheeses.
