    Cabernet Friuli Colli Orientali DOC 2016
  • This is Sirch's beautiful interpretation of the classic grape variety originating in the Bordeaux region, Cabernet Franc. Here, in the Colli Orientali del Friuli area, this grape variety has found an ideal habitat that allows it to give life to straight and intense, rigorous and deep wines. The processing foreseen for this vine by the Friulian company's technicians initially involves a phase of fermentation and maceration in steel tanks for about 10 days. Then, after racking, the wine is divided into two parts. The first refines in steel. The second ends up in barriques for a slow maturation of about a year. The result is a wine characterised by a beautiful deep amaranth red colour, with very clear and fresh, herbaceous and vinous aromas. In the mouth, however, one is pleasantly surprised by its robust nature, with lively tannins and the characteristic green astringency. A wine with a strong character, it is ideal for the whole meal, and goes especially well with meat dishes.

    A deep bond with tradition. This is the real fil-rouge of the entire activity of Sirch, the Friulian company that today belongs to the large Feudi di San Gregorio group. For Sirch, tradition is everything. The company was founded in the mid-1950s, when production methods were very different from those of today, but the territory already offered grapes of great quality. Since 1970, the company's vineyards have belonged to the Colli Orientali del Friuli DOC (which since 2011 has been called Friuli Colli Orientali). With the new millennium, Sirch restructured the winery, invested in new land and increased production and the number of bottles. The typical Sirch wines are fresh and young wines that know how to interpret tradition in a modern way and express the variety of the best wine expressions of the region. Today Sirch is one of Friuli's finest and exports its wines to several countries.
