    Barbera "Bansella" Nizza DOCG
  • Prunotto's Barbera Nizza DOCG Bansella is an extremely pleasant and typical wine. Pure Barbera grown in the area of Alba, in the province of Cuneo, where the soil, rich in limestone and sand, is able to give the wine body and structure. The harvest is strictly by hand. This is followed by destemming and a maceration phase lasting at least 7 days at a controlled temperature. Aging, which lasts 9 months, takes place in small barrels in two different stages. The result is a wine characterized by an intense ruby red colour with violet reflections. On the nose notes of black fruit, such as plum or blackberry, and hints of violet, cocoa and liquorice. The taste is harmonious and smooth, with a nice acidic streak to balance it all out.

It was in 1904 that the "Ai Vini delle Langhe" winery was founded in Serralunga d'Alba, but after just under twenty years it was sadly put into liquidation. So it was that in 1922 Alfredo Prunotto decided to invest in the project and succeeded in relaunching it. Since then, year after year, the Prunotto Winery has grown and achieved important goals, and in 1994 it became part of the Antinori universe. It currently extends over a total area of about fifty hectares of vineyards, distributed among some of the best wine growing areas in Piedmont, such as Bussia, Bric Turot and Costamiole.
