A Barolo with attractive ripe-berry, floral and light cedar character. Medium to full body, medium firm tannins and a savory finish. Drink in 2022.
Aromas of red-skinned berry, rose petal and new leather shape the nose. The savory structured palate offers fleshy black cherry, raspberry jam, licorice and black pepper alongside fine-grained tannins and fresh acidity. Drink 2024–2032. KERIN O’KEEFE
100% Nebbiolo from vineyards located in Verduno, an area highly suited to the production of Nebbiolo grapes for Barolo. Perfect south-west exposure, and soil composition typical for the area, with a white marl capable of giving finesse to the wine. The harvest is super late. It begins in mid-October, to give the grapes time to reach perfect ripeness. Fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature, with numerous pumping over and racking. Malolactic fermentation is then induced and the wine is transferred to wood for ageing. 18 months in large oak barrels followed by another 6/8 months in the bottle. After all, this wine has great ageing potential. On the contrary, it needs time to refine slowly, developing perfumes and tertiary tastes of great complexity. It should be served at the right temperature, not above the canonical 18 degrees. On the table, it is the King. Able to accompany important and tasty dishes with satisfaction. Braised beef, for example, but also first courses with wild boar sauce and, if we are lovers of the genre, also rich roasts of game.
Barbaresco and Barolo. Then Nebbiolo, Barbera d'Alba, Arneis and even Moscato. The production of Azienda Agricola Pietro Rinaldi ranges over practically all the good wines of the Langa. A family tradition that has been handed down for four generations, from father to son with the same great passion. There are a total of 10 hectares of vineyards, all hilly, all with very different soils and exposures. And this is why each plot of land is able to give life to something unique, unrepeatable. Today the farm is run by a young and passionate team, always ready to take up the challenges of the new international markets, without losing sight of its deep ties with the territory of origin. This is another reason why Azienda Agricola Pietro Rinaldi has joined the Green Experience group, for the production of sustainable and organic wines.
