Moscato Rosa is a rare and precious grape variety. It belongs to the largest family of aromatic vines, widespread throughout Italy, from Sicily to Alto Adige. According to some sources, Moscato Rosa may have been introduced to South Tyrol by Prince Henry of Campofranco, of the Bourbons, who in 1851 became related to the Hapsburgs and moved from Sicily to Caldaro. The fact is that today it is undoubtedly the Tyrol that is the region where the grape variety produces the most interesting wines. As in the case of this Alto Adige IGT proposed by Cantina Martini & Shon, in an unusual pink version. Produced exclusively in stainless steel in order not to alter the aromatic framework of the original grapes in any way. It is an extremely delicate and aromatic dessert wine. Its colour, a very light ruby, recalls that of the rose that dominates the nose. Same sensation of pleasing sweetness in the mouth as well, where it reveals itself as an extremely balanced wine. Perfect in combination with good South Tyrolean desserts, especially apple strudel and delicious sugar-coated doughnuts.
