Among the hills of Alba, at 320 metres above sea level, a Barbera is born that tells the most authentic Piedmont: Barbera d’Alba DOC “Traifilari”. We are in La Torre, in the heart of Alba, where sandy and calcareous soils and a west-facing exposure support a slow and complete ripening of the grapes. The vines, around ten years old, are harvested by hand with careful selection of the bunches, bringing only the best to the cellar. The vinification combines precision and respect for the raw material: temperature-controlled fermentation and maceration on the skins to enhance structure and complexity. This is followed by ageing for 12 months in oak barrels, both large and small, giving balance and depth without covering the fruit. In the glass it shows an intense purplish ruby red. The bouquet is broad and spicy, with floral notes and hints of ripe sour cherry. On the palate it is full, warm and elegant, with a harmonious texture that envelops without weighing down.
