    "Traifilari" Barbera d'Alba DOC 2023
    • Among the hills of Alba, at 320 metres above sea level, a Barbera is born that tells the most authentic Piedmont: Barbera d’Alba DOC “Traifilari”. We are in La Torre, in the heart of Alba, where sandy and calcareous soils and a west-facing exposure support a slow and complete ripening of the grapes. The vines, around ten years old, are harvested by hand with careful selection of the bunches, bringing only the best to the cellar. The vinification combines precision and respect for the raw material: temperature-controlled fermentation and maceration on the skins to enhance structure and complexity. This is followed by ageing for 12 months in oak barrels, both large and small, giving balance and depth without covering the fruit. In the glass it shows an intense purplish ruby red. The bouquet is broad and spicy, with floral notes and hints of ripe sour cherry. On the palate it is full, warm and elegant, with a harmonious texture that envelops without weighing down. It is a wine that speaks the language of tradition, yet with an accessible and contemporary style. Perfect with Piedmontese cuisine. A Barbera with no compromises: direct, authentic, deeply rooted in its territory.

      The agricultural estate Cascina Boschetti Gomba was founded in 1991 by Sergio Gomba, who still runs it today. From an initial one and a half hectares, the estate has grown to the current eleven hectares, a large part planted with Nebbiolo for Barolo and destined for the production of the renowned Barolo Boschetti, of which Gomba is the sole producer. The Gomba style ideally stands between tradition and innovation. His wines are produced with medium-length macerations and ageing in containers of different sizes and materials. The result is wines capable of expressing great power and elegance. Wines that do not need decades to reach their perfect maturity, yet are not afraid of being left in the cellar for a few years waiting for the right moment to be opened.
