Château Cantelys

In the heart of the prestigious Pessac-Léognan AOC appellation, among the gentle gravelly hills overlooking the Gironde estuary, lies Château Cantelys, an estate that combines Bordeaux rigour with contemporary authenticity. Founded in the 1980s and now in the hands of the Helfrich family, the winery continues to enhance the work begun by its previous owners with care and vision. The vineyards, planted mainly with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot for the reds and Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon for the whites, reflect the complexity of the gravelly soils. In the cellar, attention to quality begins in the vineyard and continues through to the bottle, with carefully calibrated vinifications and ageing that respect the wine’s natural balance. The wines show a harmonious and structured profile, rooted in Bordeaux tradition yet expressed with a modern spirit. Aromas of ripe red and black fruits blend with spices and delicate nuances.
